Taxes are increased on traditional tobacco all the time, in an attempt to encourage people to quit smoking. Despite those efforts, 400,000 people still die every single year due to tobacco. A simple fact is that people are going to continue smoking, no matter how much tax is applied to cigarettes. Therefore, you think there would be more information delivered on safer alternative to smoking, such as electronic cigarettes. Instead, electronic cigarettes are included in most smoking bans. It is truly a shame, because lives could be saved.
